Privacy Policy

IRLchat ("the app") is a companion chat client for livestreamers. It connects to the IRLchat relay service ("the service") to display your Twitch, Kick, YouTube and TikTok live chat in a single feed. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it is handled.
Information we collect
- Account / platform identity. When you sign in with Twitch, Kick, YouTube or TikTok, we store your platform user ID and username so we can connect to your chat and attribute messages.
- OAuth access tokens. Stored only to maintain your connection to each platform; never shared with third parties.
- Device pairing token. A random token created when you pair your phone with a 6-digit code. It links your device to your account and is stored on-device in the iOS Keychain.
- Chat and event data. Messages and stream events (subscriptions, raids, cheers, etc.) from channels you connect are relayed to your device and retained briefly to support replay and moderation.
- Optional ElevenLabs API key. If you choose device-key mode for AI voices, the key is stored only in the iOS Keychain on your device. If relay mode is used, the service uses its own server-side ElevenLabs key.
How we use information
- To deliver live chat and stream events to your device.
- To let you send messages and perform moderation actions you initiate.
- To maintain your authenticated connection to each platform.
- To generate optional AI text-to-speech audio when you enable ElevenLabs voices. The selected chat message or event text is sent to ElevenLabs only for speech generation.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- We do not access encryption beyond the standard HTTPS/TLS provided by the operating system.
Data retention
Chat messages are retained only transiently to support replay and are purged on a rolling basis. You can disconnect at any time from within the app, which removes the device pairing token from your device. You may request deletion of your account data at any time (see Contact).
TikTok Login & data
When you connect TikTok via TikTok Login Kit, you grant the user.info.basic and user.info.profile scopes. We use this only to read your TikTok identity — your open_id, display name and @username — so we can identify your TikTok LIVE room and display its public chat in your feed. We do not post, comment, follow, message, or take any action on TikTok on your behalf, and we do not request access to your videos or private data. TikTok identifiers are stored solely to maintain your connection and are deleted when you disconnect or request account deletion. Your use of TikTok is also governed by TikTok's own Privacy Policy and Terms.
Third-party services
The app authenticates with Twitch, Kick, Google/YouTube and TikTok via their official OAuth flows, may send selected text to ElevenLabs when AI voices are enabled, and may load third-party web overlays (e.g. StreamElements) that you configure. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
Children
IRLchat is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for streamers and their moderators.
